Hi, I am Kara Liberman, the Director of Camp JORI. I spent my youth at overnight camp and have always loved everything about it. I was so excited to be able to go back into the camp environment after many years away. Prior to having my three children, I earned my undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders and Political Science at UMASS- Amherst. I earned my masters degree at Simmons College in Special Education and worked as a special education teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels. I also taught Hebrew school at our local temple.
I love hiking and biking with my family. I also love traveling and exploring new places. In my spare time, I love to pick up a good book. My favorite color is pink. A fun fact about me- I grew up in New Jersey, but I am a Boston Sports fan. 🙂
At camp, I feel that I have two important jobs. My first responsibility is to keep kids safe. The second responsibility I have is to make sure every camper and staff member have fun every single day. I take both of these jobs very seriously!
My favorite part of camp is watching everyone have fun with their friends and enjoying the facility. Seeing kids unplug from the internet and video games for the summer is the greatest gift we can give them.
