-For our Experienced Campers-

LIT – for rising 9th & 10th graders

Camp JORI’s Leaders in Training (LIT) program is designed for teens who want to take the next step in their camp journey. LITs enjoy all the fun and friendships of camp while participating in exclusive leadership development experiences, special evening activities, and exciting weekly off-site field trips. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to lead younger campers and camp activities, LITs build confidence, responsibility, and lifelong leadership skills—all while creating unforgettable summer memories.

SIP – for rising 11th graders

Camp JORI’s Staff Internship Program (SIP) is focused on building leadership and career skills for camp and beyond. SIP provides a bridge between the camper and counselor experience. SIPs work alongside camp staff to lead activities in their area of choice, assist with a cabin of younger campers, and receive mentorship from our top leadership team. Community service hours are available, as well as a lifeguard stipend for certified lifeguards.

Israel Journey

Camp JORI, through BBYO, offers 10th grade campers who have completed the LIT program a month long experience in Israel.  Camp JORI’s Israel Journey is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to connect with the history, people, and natural beauty of Israel. The program is also the culmination of our Israel education programming at camp.

Participants will then return to JORI as Counselors in Training (CITs) for the last two weeks of the summer at camp to continue their training to be future counselors. This program, along with additional staff training initiatives that will strengthen the camper-to-counselor transition.

As an alternative, incoming 11th graders can apply to our Staff Internship Program.
